“Saya dengan senang hati mengumumkan, kami tengah menentukan proyek (dengan target) anak muda sebagai prioritas di Instagram, bahkan kami memasukannya pada daftar prioritas H1 kami,”– Wakil Presiden Produk Instagram, Vishal Shah di papan pesan karyawan pada hari Kamis (18/3/2021). BuzzFeed News.
Kids are increasingly asking their parents if they can join apps that help them keep up with their friends. A version of Instagram where parents have control, like we did w/ Messenger Kids, is something we’re exploring. We’ll share more down the road.

I think one of the main concerns from the folks we spoke with is that Instagram doesn't yet have a complete handle on the bullying, harassment, etc on its main platform. Given that, those people have concerns about what a whole new platform for even younger users would entail.

If it works like messenger kids then only a parent can approve their children's friends. stopping bowling on the main platform isn't much harder problem but when you give a parent control over who a friend can be it's much more stable.

Adam, you all don’t even have control of your platform. How can you expect parents to figure it out?
Man, this is a complete disaster in the making. Hasn’t @facebook already done enough damage?

“Hanya karena Facebook menyediakan platform khusus anak-anak, bukan berarti anak-anak akan terus menggunakannya,” pungkasnya.
